Driftwood Beach

Driftwood Beach

Driftwood Beach is located on Jekyll Island, in the Golden Isle region of Georgia’s Coast. The beach does not have a sign to show its location, but it is pretty easy to find because there are pull-offs usually filled with cars at the entrances.

On the day we went to explore Driftwood beach it was very cloudy and foggy. But I think it added an effect to the hauntingly beautiful beach. A couple weeks before our visit a strong hurricane came through the area which added the stones and other debris to the beach. The driftwood has collected on the beach due to strong currents and erosion in the area. Driftwood Beach is a must see on Jekyll Island no matter the weather and a great place to watch the sunrise and sunset.
